Specialist DJ Insurance

DJ insurance is designed to cover professional and at-home DJs against the risks associated with being a DJ, owning DJ equipment and working in public music venues, including third-party claims for injury or property damage.

As most music venues require you to have public liability insurance before they allow you to play, DJ insurance through Insure4music comes with public liability insurance up to £5m as standard and cover for Public Liability ONLY can start from £33.07 for 12 months.

Once you take out a policy, you will receive a public liability certificate, which you can provide to your venue, promoter, or booking agent to show you are covered.

Plus, with the option to upgrade to worldwide cover, you can enjoy performing your tunes at home or around the world.

DJ equipment insurance

DJ gear can be a big investment, and whether you’re an at-home DJ or a mobile DJ performing at events, parties or local pubs, we understand the importance of protecting your DJ equipment from the unexpected. DJ insurance through Insure4music covers your equipment against theft, accidental loss, and damage so you can perform confidently, knowing you’re protected from potential financial losses.

This includes your decks, plus any electric equipment used for your music or at events, such as laptops, sound or lighting equipment.

Who is specialist DJ insurance for?

DJ insurance through Insure4Music is designed for DJs just starting to learn their craft, to those who travel regularly for paid gigs or have a residency at a venue.

Cover options are available to help financially protect your DJ equipment and performance activities. Public Liability-only policies also include a certificate as proof of cover, while our policies allow unlimited gigs, events and festival performances throughout the policy term.

Types of DJs can include:

  • Bedroom DJs making the move to live events – who are taking their first bookings and investing in professional equipment for public performances
  • Private event DJs – who entertain guests at weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and corporate celebrations
  • Nightclub DJs – who perform regular sets at bars, clubs and late-night venues.
  • Festival and outdoor event DJs – playing to larger audiences at organised music events. Capacity limits apply
  • Professional mobile DJs – who transport sound, lighting and DJ equipment between multiple venues each week
  • Resident and touring DJs – who perform regularly at a resident venue or travelling across the UK and overseas for booked events

When might you need to consider DJ insurance?

DJ insurance can help to financially protect DJs in a variety of situations, from private events and club nights to festivals, weddings and touring.

Some common scenarios include:

  • A venue or event organiser asks for you for proof of Public Liability insurance before confirming your booking
  • You transport controllers, decks, mixers, speakers, lighting and other DJ equipment between multiple venues, where Equipment cover may help protect against theft, loss or accidental damage
  • Someone trips over one of your speakers or lighting cables whilst you're performing, resulting in a claim for accidental injury
  • Your speaker or lighting stand accidentally damages a venue floor, wall or other property whilst you're setting up or packing away
  • You provide music at weddings, corporate events or private functions where organisers may require evidence of Public Liability cover
  • Your controller, mixer or laptop is stolen from your vehicle before a scheduled performance, leaving you unable to use your usual setup
  • You perform at festivals or outdoor events where larger audiences, multiple suppliers, and shared production areas can increase potential liability risks (capacity limits apply)
  • You use lighting rigs, speaker stands or other performance equipment that could accidentally cause damage to third-party property during an event
  • You travel across the UK or perform overseas, where optional 180-day worldwide cover may be available
