What is music group insurance?

Whether you’re part of a choir, a tribute act or an a cappella trio, you need insurance that covers the needs of your entire group.

Our music group insurance is designed to protect you from a range of incidents such as injury, theft, loss and accidental damage.

Why does your group need Equipment cover?

Having Equipment cover means you are protected against theft, loss and accidental damage while rehearsing, performing or on the road. What’s more, if something happens to your equipment, you won’t need to pay for repairs and replacements out of your own pocket. We'll also cover up to £30,000 of equipment left in a secure studio.

So, if your PA system, microphones or lighting equipment are lost, stolen or accidentally damaged, we will replace them on a new-for-old basis, provided they are less than three years old and were purchased new.

We’ll also cover the collective value of your equipment and unlike other insurance companies we don’t need you to list every instrument or piece of kit you want to insure. Plus, one person can take out the policy for the whole group – all we need are the names of the performers.

Why does your group need Performance cover?

Performance cover is essential if you play live. An accident could stop you or another member of your group from carrying out your day-to-day profession or performing for long periods.

This is why, if you cannot work following an accident during a performance, we will cover you for loss of earnings for up to 52 weeks.

Insure4Music’s Performance cover also reimburses you for the hire of alternative music equipment from a recognised reputable dealer, plus breakdown protection if your equipment should fail.

Why do I need Public Liability insurance?

Imagine turning up to a venue and being told you can’t perform because you don’t have the right insurance.

Without a Public Liability insurance certificate, most public venues won’t allow a musical group on stage. This insures you in case you injure someone else, or cause damage to property when performing – for instance, if an amplifier explodes or someone trips or falls and injures themselves on stage.

If a claim is made against you for instances like these, our Public Liability insurance for groups covers your legal liability and potential legal fees and expenses up to a value of £5 million.

With our quick and easy online quote process, you can have your Public Liability insurance certificate sent straight to your phone so you never miss a performance.
